Mr Mishra,

This letter is to inform you of changes to the New York State Supplement Program (SSP) that took effect in October 2014.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) provides you with a monthly Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit that includes both federal funds and a monthly New York State supplement. Your SSI benefit will be split into two payments starting in October 2014. The federal portion will be issued by the federal government and the SSP portion by New York State.

Each month, you will receive your SSP payment on or before the first of the month.
This does not affect your eligibility, how you receive your benefits or the total amount of your monthly benefit.

Please read the Question and Answer sheet for additional details on this change. Please contact the New York State SSP if you have any further questions. Visit the New York State website at www.otda.ny.gov/proorams/ss or call 1-855-488-0541 for customer support.

Please visit www.myBenefits.ny.gov for information on other human services benefit programmes available in New York State.
