How to write a leave letter for the office for marriage?

1. SENDER'S ADDRESS :

The sender's address is the address of the person sending the application letter.

It shouldn't be more than 10 words and not more than 3 lines.

2. RECEIVER'S ADDRESS :

This is the second part of the application letter where the reader/receiver's personal or organisation name is written clearly.

The reader is the person receiving the application letter. 

It shouldn't be more than 12-15 words and not more than 4 lines.

It includes the name of the receiver (personally or not), the address of the receiver; the pin code and the name of the state.

However, it isn't necessary to write the Name of the country if it isn't international. 

FORMAT |It should be just below the Sender's address at the top corner of the application sheet.

No comma or exclamation mark is required.

3. DATE :

This is the date of the day when the Application is sent. 

There are many different ways to write out the date in a letter. 

The location of the date and style of writing also matters as it is a Formal Letter.

The date should be in such a way that it includes both numerical and words. For instance, "10th October 2021"

There're many formal ways of writing the dates. The common form of dates are:-

  • 7th May 20##
  • 7 May, 20##
  • May 7, 20##
  • Friday, 7th May 20##

However, be careful with the date! In American English, they write the month first, but in British English, they write the day first as mentioned below:- 

05-04-20##

It is the fourth of May in the United State but in Britain, it is the fifth of April. So, always write the date as mentioned below:-

5th April 20##

For instance:-

14th March 2022 or,
March 14th 2022

FORMAT | It should be just below the receiver's address after leaving a line.


4. SUBJECT :

Subject, leave for one day leave.

The subject is the main theme of the application letter.

It is a short summary/gallay of the letter where the purpose of writing the letter is written.

It shouldn't be more than 10 words and not more than 1 paragraph.

FORMAT | It appears just below the dates after leaving one line according to the old format. 

However, if you want to follow up the new format, the subject should come after the salutation/greeting.

It isn't compulsory to change the paragraph but it depends on one's writing style. Since there's no specific rule.

5. GREETING :

The greeting is also known as the salutation.

A letter salutation is a formal greeting used in professional letters.

It shouldn't be lengthy and only specific to the purpose of the letter.

It is the part where you're required to write down your issue.

Includes who you're ( if unfamiliar ) write down the reason for your leave and the number of days leaves. 

It normally includes three to four paragraphs.
